Is Feldenkrais like Yoga or Tai Chi?
Although improved flexibility, strength and balance will occur by doing Awareness Through Movement lessons, these outcomes are not the primary aim. The main purpose of Awareness Through Movement is to develop greater awareness of how you move, and to explore new possibilities of movement. The Feldenkrais Method is about learning and self-discovery.
Perhaps the greatest difference between the Feldenkrais Method and other body-oriented methods is the ease with which all movements are carried out. In Awareness Through Movement, ease is a fundamental principle of learning.
